The biggest single waiver, for 351,000 people, was for the United Federation of Teachers Welfare Fund, a New York union providing coverage for city teachers. So you’re advocating that the public band together, form a large group, and use the resulting purchasing power to provide affordable options for health care? That way the American people will have a “public option” to seek their health insurance coverage.
I’m in full agreement. You have presented an excellent argument for the public option that our government inexpicably rejected. If Unions can band together and negiotiate affordable rates for health care, WE THE PEOPLE should also be able to do so!
